[Breaking] Taoiseach to meet Zelensky at Shannon Airport

The Taoiseach will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Shannon Airport this lunchtime.

Micheál Martin earlier cancelled a scheduled visit to Belfast to attend the meeting with Mr Zelensky.

The Ukrainian President is briefly stopping in Shannon on his way to the US where he is due to meet the US President.

Mr Zelensky is set to meet Donald Trump tomorrow to finalise a deal on US access to Ukraine's mineral wealth.

Mr Martin is expected to reiterate Ireland's support for Ukraine at today's meeting at Shannon Airport.

Earlier this week, Mr Martin pledged to increase financial humanitarian aid to Ukraine. - Simulator Radio News Team
